Sutton Bridge latest

East Riding of Yorkshire Council (who are responsible for the Bridge) have confirmed their full commitment to undertake the permanent repairs to Derwent Bridge in consultation with Elvington/Sutton Parish Councils.
 
Elvington PC have agreed two principal considerations (there are others) as follows:

• the Bridge must be closed for the minimum time to both pedestrians and traffic

• no repairs to be undertaken until limitations on future use by heavy/ wide vehicles are decided, and agreed by East Riding and York Councils to avoid any recurrence of damage

ERYC have agreed to respond to the Parish Councils this week to provide further information addressing these issues.
