Sutton Bridge latest

Following a meeting with ERCC this morning there is now more information regarding the opening of the bridge to light traffic.  This is a temporary solution, pending agreement between ERCC and the two parish councils for permanent repairs.

The bridge is planned to open on Sunday afternoon, or Monday at the latest, to light traffic.

There will be a weight restriction of 3.5 tonnes and a width restriction of 2.0 metres.

These restrictions will be enforced by signage.
A speed restriction of 10 mph will be introduced, enforced by speed bumps and the traffic lights will be rephased.

If the restrictions are ignored by heavy vehicles then residents are asked to report details of the offenders, accompanied by photographs if possible, to any councillor who will the ensure that the information is passed to ERCC for further action.

Should it be become apparent that there is wide abuse of the restrictions then ERCC will introduce physical width limiters.
